Description

Beach Tree Cottage, Elm Tree Cottage, Oak Tree Cottage, and Walnut Tree Cottage form a terrace of four cottages built in the 19th century. They are constructed of whitewashed brick and topped with a plain tile roof, featuring two and three storeys.

The entrance front showcases an early 19th-century cottage at the far right, which has a gabled end with cambered-headed three-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors. To the left of this, there is another gable with a three-light casement window on the first floor. Between these two gables, there are two gabled dormer windows, each with two lights. The leftmost cottage has three low floors and features a two-light gabled dormer in the centre of the second floor, positioned directly above the first-floor window.

On the ground floor, the terrace has four 19th-century doorways, each with gabled porches supported on brackets. The ground floor windows consist of three or four casement lights with flat heads, except for the rightmost window, which is a canted oriel supported by a bracket of stepped brickwork, and a single-light window located to the right of the front door of this cottage. The terrace is noted for its group value.
