Description

The Wheelwright’s Shop is a late 17th-century house. It is constructed of red English garden wall bond brick with a stone slate roof. The house is two storeys high. The front which faces the road features a 20th-century porch located to the left of centre. A three-light casement window with a splayed head is situated to the right at ground floor, with a two-light casement to its left. There are two two-light casements to the first floor. Gable chimneys are present, and a stone tablet in the centre of the first floor records that the roof was re-roofed in 1966. A 19th-century addition extends to the left, featuring two-light casements to both ground and first floors. At the rear, a three-light casement is present to the right at ground floor with a two-light casement to the left. A mezzanine staircase window, originally taller, is centrally positioned, flanked by two two-light casements. A 19th-century outshut is located at the right.
