Description
Wyche's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with 20th-century brick additions and alterations. The building features a combination of partly timber framing with plaster infill on a stone plinth, and partly in washed brick. It has a red tile roof and two brick chimneys. Originally, the timber-framed house had a two-room gable entry plan, but it has been altered to a T-shaped plan. The farmhouse is two storeys high with a three-bay front. The left end bay is the gable end of the original house, which includes five by three regular small timber frames and a surprisingly small queen post truss. In the gable, there is a three-light square-sectioned wood mullioned window with lattice-leaded glazing. The central bay features a lean-to porch and a 20th-century timber-framed half-dormer, while the right end bay has a two-light casement window with glazing bars. Inside, the timber frame remains intact except for the north-west gable. There is a chamfered ceiling beam with a flat stop and a similar small queen post truss. The wood mullioned window has a scrolled catch.
