Description
The Lodge to Ancoats Hospital, built in 1904, is a structure made of red English garden wall bond brick with a slate roof. It has an angled plan consisting of two ranges set at 45 degrees. The road-facing side features an archway located to the right of the center, adorned with stone dressings and set-backs. Above the archway is an angled oriel window supported by a stone corbel, flanked by a lateral window containing two sets of three panes and two side casements with one set of three panes each. On the left side, there is a stone inscription that reads "ANCOATS HOSPITAL CONVALESCENT HOME: 1904." Adjacent to the angle is a door with glazed upper lights, and to its left is a window with six casement lights arranged in two sets of four panes, along with a first-floor window featuring four lights arranged in two sets of two panes.
