Description
The road bridge opposite the east end of the reservoir dam, built around 1830, is likely designed by engineer William Crosley. It is constructed of tooled ashlar reddish-buff sandstone and features a horseshoe elliptical arch with keystones. The abutments are curved in plan and battered. At road level, plain projecting strings support stone parapets with plain projecting copings, which end in square piers. The design and details of this bridge are similar to those found on the Macclesfield Canal.
