Description

TWEMLOW C.P. JODRELL BANK SJ 77 SE 2/56 Gate piers at highway north-west of Terra Nova School -

GV II

Gate piers, c.1779. Red sandstone piers, square on plan, with projecting weathered flush jointed bases. The bases support rusticated piers 600mm square with projecting cavetto moulded caps. Ball finials, with carved swags at their sides, are balanced on hemispherical supports which sit on the pier caps. The gates have been removed.
