Description
The gate piers located at the highway northwest of Terra Nova School were built around 1779. They are made of red sandstone and are square in shape, measuring 600mm on each side. The piers feature projecting weathered flush jointed bases that support rusticated sections topped with cavetto moulded caps. Each pier is adorned with ball finials that have carved swags on their sides, resting on hemispherical supports atop the pier caps. The original gates have been removed.
