Description

The Three Lamps is a gas light column, now converted to electricity, dating from 1880. It is made of cast iron and features moulded arms set at angles of 120 degrees to each other, which support lamps and are topped by a single lamp suspended within a ring support. The column has a wide circular base that supports four coupled shafts with moulded caps. These shafts lead to a nine shaft pillar with a moulded cap, from which three foliated lamp support arms extend. Above the springing point of the arms, a triple stem decorated with a ball flower rises and supports a pear-shaped ring from which the larger uppermost lamp is suspended.
