Description

White Lodge is a lodge dating to around 1770, likely designed by John Carr. It is one of the gate lodges for Tabley House. The lodge is whitewashed with English garden wall bond brick and a slate roof with lead flashings. It has two storeys. The road-facing facade features a central, two-storey semi-circular archway. Ground floor windows are arranged in pairs of three-light sashes, set within blank, round-arched recesses on either side of the archway. Porthole windows with cross glazing are located on the first floor. 19th-century outshuts, similar in style to the rear of the lodge, are situated on either side. The porthole windows on these outshuts have been bricked up.
