Description
Green Farmhouse is a farmhouse with its core dating from the 17th century, featuring significant alterations and an additional storey added in 1748, along with minor changes in the 19th century. The building is constructed from coursed, squared, buff sandstone rubble and has a composition tile roof with two stone chimneys. It has a double-pile plan and is two storeys high with a symmetrical, three-bay east front. The facade includes raised rusticated quoins and large 30-pane windows on the ground floor, with 3-light wooden casements above, all set under plain stone lintels. The rusticated, flat-headed doorcase contains a six-board door, and above it is a date tablet featuring the initials TWS, adorned with angels and leaves in the corners. The west front has a chamfered door lintel and flush quoins, with 3-light wooden casement windows. Inside, there are timber-framed partition walls and chamfered ceiling beams, along with an 18th-century stone fireplace that has a lintel supported by plain consoles.
