Description
A group of four houses dating to around 1830, situated on a corner plot and now used as shops and offices. The buildings are constructed of brick with a Welsh slate roof. The elevation facing Bridge Street appears to be divided between numbers 36 Bridge Street and 30 Great King Street, and presents a four-window facade. A tripartite sash window is located on either side of the main doorway, which features a six-panelled door and a plain fanlight within a doorcase with Tuscan pilasters and an open pediment. The upper-floor windows are sash windows with wide, splayed, flat-arched brick heads with finely gauged detailing. Windows to the left of the doorway, belonging to number 30 Great King Street, retain small panes, with twelve-pane sashes on the first floor. A moulded wood eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. The elevation on Great King Street has a central, segmentally-arched carriage entry. Number 30 Great King Street is located on the right, with a central door set within a moulded architrave, flanked by twelve-pane sash windows on each floor. To the left of this is a round-arched doorway with a four-panelled door and an inserted shop front. Above are two twelve-pane sash windows. The building has a gable end and axial stacks.
