Description

The boundary wall immediately to the south of the Church of St Peter, which fronts Sunderland Road and extends along Moor Lane, was built between 1866 and 1867. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features ashlar saddle-back coping. The entrance gates face Sunderland Road and are flanked by two square ashlar piers topped with pyramidal caps. An original cast iron lamp with a faceted globe is still in place on the northern pier.
