Description
Murton Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse with later additions. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone and features a pantiled roof with flat stone gable coping on curved kneelers, along with brick chimneys. The building has a double span and stands two storeys high with five windows. The central entrance consists of a half-glazed door set within a late 19th-century porch. The windows on the ground floor have flat stone lintels and are wood cross windows with early 20th-century glazing. On the left side of the ground floor, there is a round-headed window in a stone surround with impost blocks. The roof is steeply pitched with swept eaves and end chimneys, one of which at the left rear is set on an ashlar base.
