Description

There are six lamp standards located on the pavement opposite numbers 104, 106, and 108 on Grey Street in Newcastle upon Tyne. These lamp standards were designed by W.H. Knowles and J.R. Milburn and were built between 1902 and 1904. They are made of cast iron and feature triangular bases that consist of three interlinked consoles. The shafts are hexagonal, fluted, and tapering, topped with moulded capitals and cross bearings. Each lamp has reflector hoods for the gas lamps and is finished with crown and ball finials.
