Description

This is a mid-19th century quayside wall located in Newcastle upon Tyne, extending from the Swing Bridge to the quayside sheds. The wall is constructed from granite and features round-edged blocks that are approximately one metre deep from the edge of the quay. On top of the wall, there are bollards, which include 13 mushroom-stalk shaped bollards and 4 T-shaped bollards. The mushroom-stalk bollards are set into the quay, while the T-shaped bollards have square base plates that are bolted onto the quay.
