Description

Heaton Windmill is an early 18th-century tower mill located on the north side of Jesmond Vale Lane in Newcastle upon Tyne. The structure is built of coursed squared sandstone, with the lower courses rendered. The mill features a blocked door in the rendered lower section, which has a flat stone lintel. There are three chamfered square window openings and one small high square opening. Additionally, there are blocked holes for gallery beams. A low mound surrounds the base of the windmill. At the time of the survey, the windmill was roofless.
