Description
A terrace of six houses dated approximately 1845, located on the north side of The Grove in Gosforth. The buildings are constructed from sandstone ashlar with a Welsh slate roof. The terrace consists of two, three-bay houses at each end and four, five-bay houses in the centre. Each house is two storeys high with an attic. The end houses have a pediment. The front doors are made up of eight panels, with the doors of the end houses having an entablature above them, while the others are set within architraves. The window reveals are plain, and the windows are margined sashes, except for No. 23, where the margins have been lost. Canted bay windows are located in the end bays, and there is a square bay window to the left of No. 33. Each pediment contains a window with an elliptical head and a raised stone surround. Dormers, mostly dating from the 20th century, are visible on the roof, along with tall, corniced ashlar chimneys.
