Description
The former boiler shop of Greensfield Railway Works dates from around 1877. It is constructed from snecked squared stone, featuring bands and a bracketed top cornice, with a Welsh slate roof. The building stands two storeys above a tall basement that increases in height as the hill slopes down. The lower storey has large round arched openings, while the upper storey features segmental arches. There are ten bays in total, with round windows in the gable ends. Inside, the ground storey is completely barrel vaulted, supported by substantial piers with ten parallel vaults. The building is currently used as a vehicle repair shop.
