Description
School House, built around 1860, is a one-storey building with dormers, constructed from tooled snecked sandstone featuring ashlar dressings, quoins, and a plinth. The roof is made of Welsh slate with bands of a fishscale pattern. The façade has five bays, with a central half-glazed door set in stop-chamfered alternate-block jambs and a high lintel, located within a porch that has bargeboards and a finial. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are adorned with similar surrounds and bracketed stone sills. The dormers in the second and fourth bays also feature bargeboards and shafts. Both the left and right returns have a window in the bargeboarded gable peak. There are three transverse ridge chimneys made of yellow brick, each with stone cornices and 19th-century yellow chimney pots. This building was originally constructed as the schoolmaster's house for the National School.
