Description
The Hollies is an early 19th century detached house with a walled garden, standing two storeys tall. The building features three windows, although one is blocked. It is constructed of brick with a stone band at the first floor level, which also extends to the ground floor, and has stone lintels above the first-floor windows. The slate roof is adorned with two brick chimneys and has coped verges with modern brick foot-stones. The windows are flush framed glazing bar sash windows, with an additional sash window located on the first floor of the south gable end. The house has bay windows that are accentuated by curved Doric pilasterettes at the corners. The central entrance is framed by Greek Doric columns, leading up to a six-panel door topped with a spoked fanlight. At the rear, there is a three-storey gabled extension, which retains one stone kneeler on the south side, and a round-headed stair window.
