Description
64 Dovecot Street is a mid-19th century Italianate building. It is two storeys high and features five windows facing the street and three windows on the east side, which is the entrance front. The structure is built of brick with stone dressings, including a ground floor cill string, a string course over the ground floor, and imposts and surrounds to the first floor windows. A stone dentil cornice is present at the eaves. The ground and first floor windows are set in arched recesses, separated by stone. The first floor has round-headed casements with fluted impost moulding, while the ground floor features sash windows that have small flanking stone piers and are divided by banded brick piers. The building has brick set-offs to the plinth and a central entablature on the east side. The entrance is highlighted by small stone piers on a brick plinth supporting a pedimented doorpiece with a six-panel door. At the back, there is a garden wall made of similar brick in English garden bond, topped with stone coping.
