Description
The Friends Meeting House, built in 1876, is a two-storey brick building located on Dovecot Street in Stockton on Tees. It features five windows, with the center section slightly projecting forward. The brickwork includes occasional headed courses and is complemented by stone dressings, a cornice, and a blocking course. The glazing bar sash windows have architraves, are eaved to the cills, and feature cornices on the ground floor. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, with a hipped gable above the central bay. A panel inscribed "Friends' Meeting House" is located above the blocking course at the center. The simpler rear elevation has a central entrance with a bracketed cornice leading to the blocking course. The back garden wall is constructed of similar brick in English garden bond, topped with stone coping.
