Description
No. 24 High Street is a building dating from around 1700, with some alterations made over the years. It is two storeys high and features three wide, irregularly spaced windows. The exterior is constructed of light red brick and has a coved plastered eaves cornice. The end chimneys have been replaced with modern concrete tiles. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door topped by an oblong fanlight, set within a wooden doorcase that has pilasters and an entablature. To the north of the main building is a stable wing, which is dated 1819 and has an elliptical-arched carriage entrance with a keystone. This wing is made of similar brick and has a pantiled roof. The windows have been altered, and a butcher's shop was added in the late 19th century.
