Description

This is a row of late 1830s or early 1840s brick townhouses, set back from Norton Road by front gardens. The buildings comprise Nos 349 and 355 with two windows each, and the remaining properties (Nos 351, 353 and 357) with three windows each, with No 357 being double-fronted. The construction is of brick with brick flat arches, stone or stucco sill bands, a moulded brick cornice and block course. The ground floor features wide three-light bays. Each property has a pilastered doorpiece, and panelled doors with panelled reveals, except for No 349. No 357 has a traceried fanlight and small outside shutters. The roofs are slate, with Nos 353 and 355 having Marley tiled roofs. Brick chimneys are present. The late-glazed sash windows have slightly cambered heads, though Nos 349 and 355 now have modern casements. No 357 is slightly taller than its neighbours.
