Description
This is a house located at 145A High Street in Marske, dating from the early 18th century, with later additions and 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone and has a roof covered with concrete tiles, featuring stone gable copings and brick chimneys. The building has an irregular plan, likely designed with a hearth entry.
The exterior consists of two storeys and a two-window range. The central entrance features a half-glazed 20th-century door. Each floor has wide three-light horizontal sliding sash windows with renewed glazing bars, set under flat stone lintels with keystones. The ground floor windows rise through two courses of stone, while the first-floor windows are positioned at the eaves. The steeply pitched roof has gable coping on the left side and renewed brick chimneys, one at the left end and another to the right of the door. The left side of the building has a single light window in the gable peak. There are later additions at the rear, which have undergone 20th-century alterations. The interior has not been inspected.
