Description

This headstone, located approximately 12 yards northeast of the Church of St. Bartholomew in Whittingham Village, commemorates Mathew Swanson, who died in 1783, and John Archbold, who died in 1750. It is a small sandstone tablet about 2 feet 6 inches high, featuring a high domed top. Above John Archbold's inscription is a well-carved angel, while above Mathew Swanson's inscription is a memento mori.
