Description
The waiting shed at Chathill Station was built around 1847 by Benjamin Green for the Newcastle and Berwick Railway. It is constructed from ashlar and wood, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building is a single storey with stone walls on the sides and rear. The fourth wall, which originally had an open arcade facing the platform, has been replaced with wooden cladding and features a long horizontal window with vertical glazing bars. The roof is mono-pitched, and there is a paved platform with a retaining wall.
