Description

Quayside Granary is a granary that has been converted into a store and is partly disused. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and is constructed of roughly coursed rubble with pantiled roofs. The building stands four storeys tall and features hoist doors at each level. An external stone staircase on the south-west side provides access to the first floor, while an iron stairway on the north-west side has recently been removed. Quayside Granary is a visually prominent structure in one of the most recognized views of Berwick-upon-Tweed, seen from Berwick Bridge towards Quay Walls. It is included for its group value.
