Description

Houses, dating from 1869, built in the Gothic Revival style. They are constructed of ashlar with ashlar dressings, and have a Cumberland slate roof with crow-stepped gables. There are single ridge and two gable stacks. The design incorporates contrasting sandstone cill and impost bands, and chamfered plinths. The properties are two storeys high with a basement.

The Bridge End front has three bays. To the right is a moulded, pointed arch doorway with a hood mould, a door, and an overlight featuring a small oculus. To the left are two plain sashes with small oculi, set within chamfered, pointed arches. Above are three segment-headed plain sashes, topped by crow-stepped gables. A single, chamfered corner front terminates in a crow-stepped gable, with a plain sash and oculus above, within a chamfered, pointed arch. Above this is a projecting balcony with strapwork balustrade and a shouldered arched plain sash with a strapwork pediment inscribed "1869".

The Quay Walls front has three bays, with a centrally projecting gabled porch featuring a moulded, pointed arch doorway, a door, an overlight, and an oculus within. Either side of the porch are single, shouldered arched plain sashes with oculi, set within chamfered arches. Above are three central lancets with single plain sashes, flanked by single segment-headed plain sashes with crow-stepped gables. Spear-head railings are present to the Bridge End front.
