Description

No 2 Quay Walls is a dwelling house, likely built in the early 19th century. It features rendered and painted rubble beneath a steeply-pitched slate roof. The building has one storey facing Quay Walls and two storeys at the rear. It includes four double-hung sash windows and a central doorway. This section of Quay Walls is part of the Elizabethan walled defences that enclose the town, and No 2 is integrated into these walls. The house is visually prominent on Quay Walls and, along with the nearby early 18th-century buildings, contributes to one of the most recognized views of the town. It is included for its group value.
