Description

4 Quay Walls is a late 18th-century stone building that stands three storeys high with a basement. It features a moulded cornice and scroll foot-stones. The building has five windows on the upper floors and four on the ground floor, which were re-sashed in the 19th century. A notable feature is the fine doorcase, which includes an elaborate cast lead traceried fanlight, an ornamented frieze, and a broken pediment. All listed buildings in Quay Walls are recognized for their significance along the river frontage of Berwick.
