Description
The obelisk base, dating from the 18th century, is located on the east side of the road to New Hartley in Seaton Delaval. It is made of squared stone and features a square structure with chamfered and moulded plinths, as well as a moulded cap. The current height of the base is approximately 4 metres. This obelisk is said to mark the spot where Admiral George Delaval had a fatal fall while riding on June 22nd, 1723.
