Description

The Dodsworth Tomb, located 14 metres northeast of the south churchyard gate, is a table tomb dating from 1630. It is constructed from cut sandstone and features a simple design with a broad chamfered plinth. The top slab is very worn and may have originally included an effigy. A renewed slab on the north side displays a shield with three hunting horns and an inscription that reads, "Here lyeth the Body of Edward Dodsworth of East Chevington Huntsman to King James Who Departed to the Mercy of God the 30 of May anno Domini 1630."
