Description

Whitewalls is an early 18th-century house, likely built upon earlier fabric. The structure is of rubble construction with cut stone dressings, and has a slate roof. It is two storeys high and consists of five bays, though the arrangement is slightly irregular. A renewed door is located slightly to the left of the centre, with a window immediately to its right set within the blocking of a former door. The original windows were two-light mullioned windows, with deeply-chamfered jambs; these mullions have since been removed, and the openings are now occupied by 20th-century small-paned casement windows. The left return displays small, blocked attic lights and irregularities indicating the incorporation of older masonry. The right return features one blocked attic light set within a stone surround. An outshut at the rear is probably contemporary and its openings have been mostly altered.
