Description
The buildings at 48-52 Bridge Street date to the 17th and 18th centuries. The front of numbers 48 to 52 is three stories high, with a stuccoed facade and a pantiled roof. Number 48 features a shop front. A narrow passage leading to number 50 is situated between numbers 48 and 52. Each upper floor of the main block has six twelve-pane sash windows set within moulded surrounds. Number 50 is situated within a rear wing and is the earlier part of the terrace, with a timber-frame construction. This section is two stories high, and the upper storey projects on joist ends, although it has later windows. The listed buildings on the North Side of Bridge Street form a group.
