Description
The farm buildings located 150 metres north-east of Seaton Delaval Hall date from the 18th century. They are constructed of coursed roughly-squared stone, except for the north end, which is made of brick in an irregular bond. The roof is covered with graduated Lakeland slate, except for the west range, which has Welsh slates. The buildings are arranged in an L shape.
The north end of the main range features a screen wall with a large round-headed arch that has a keystone, flanked by vertical pairs of smaller blind arches. There is a moulded stone string course at the lower sills, with brick bands at the upper sill and impost levels, as well as below the parapet, which has a flat stone coping. The right return of the building displays boarded doors, a stable door, a 9-pane fixed window, and a blacksmith's window. The lower west range, set back to the right, includes a boarded door and two blacksmith's windows. All openings are topped with timber lintels. The south end of the main range has a projecting brick stack and a boarded pitching door.
The attached wall to the south and the pent shed to the east are not of special interest.
