Description

This is a headstone located 2.0 metres south of the Church of the Holy Cross, dedicated to Thomas Borrow, who died in 1742. It is made of sandstone and features a shaped top with a sunk panel that has bold relief carvings, including a skull flanked by a shield and an hour-glass, as well as cross-bones beneath the skull, which are flanked by small serpents. The inscription reads: "Here lieth the Body of THOMAS BORROW of Stonhalt who Departed this Life August ye 29th 1742 Aged 70."
