Description

Harpertown Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 18th century. The front is made of squared stone, while the other sides are constructed from rubble, featuring tooled ashlar dressings and a slate roof. The building has two storeys and three symmetrical bays. It includes rusticated quoins, as well as plinth and sill bands. The central entrance has renewed hinged doors set in a moulded architrave topped with a pediment. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are framed by raised stone surrounds and feature panelled shutters. The gables are coped with moulded kneelers, and there are stepped and corniced stone stacks at the ends. The right side of the house has a central round-headed attic window in a stone surround with imposts and a keystone, which is now blocked. The left side has a similar blocked window. There is also a stone surround for a stair window with a radial head on the rear elevation, while other windows are 20th century in old stone surrounds, and there is a small late 19th-century porch. The interior has not been seen.
