Description
Cheswick Shiel is a fishermen's shieling, likely dating from the 18th century, with later repairs. The building is constructed of whitewashed rubble, with some brick patches, and features a pantiled roof. It is a single-storey structure, small in size, with a boarded door and one small sash window. There is a partly-external stack on the left return and the roof is hipped.
Inside, there is a plain stone fireplace. This building was formerly used as seasonal accommodation for salmon fishermen. It is included in the heritage register for its historical interest and rarity.
