Description
Donald's Grave is a probable boundary marker located on the south side of the road, 10 metres east of the track leading to Slaley Hall. This stone dates from the 18th century or may be a reworking of an even older stone. It is made of gritstone and has a roughly-cut monolithic shape with a trapezoidal plan, standing at an exposed height of 0.9 metres. The east face features an incised letter B, while the north face shows the remains of an incised design, which may be a cross within a circle. The west face has the incised letters A (laid sideways) and S.
