Description

Low Cross House is a house dating probably from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of dressed stone with ashlar dressings and has a Welsh slate roof. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The ground floor previously had a 20th-century shop front, but this was restored in 1985 with the addition of a panelled door set within a pedimented stone porch. Flanking the door are two-light windows, also added in 1985, featuring 16-pane sashes within architraves. On the first floor are renewed 20-pane sashes in the original architraves. The corners feature rusticated quoins. The steeply pitched gable roof has small, stone end stacks.
