Description
The archway to the garden of Manor Cottage and the wall in front of the Manor Office date from the early 19th century. It features a segmental archway leading to the street, constructed from ashlar stone with quoins on the piers. A low wall extends from the northwest corner of the Manor Office to No. 22 Hallgate, made of rock-faced coursed rubble and includes intermediate capped piers, although two caps are missing. There are also two taller piers flanking the gate to the Manor Office. This structure, along with Nos. 15 to 19 Hallgate, Hall Bank House, Bankhead, and Manor Cottage, forms a group, with Nos. 15 and 16 Hallgate being of local interest.
