Description
This building consists of a dovecote and pigsties, located approximately 50 yards north of Cheeseburn Grange. It dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed of random rubble with ashlar dressings, topped with a Lakeland slate roof.
The central section of the structure is two storeys high, with single-storey sections on either side. The ground floor features a central passageway, with low doorways leading to the pigsties on either side. Above the central doorway, there are three pigeon holes, and the stone ledge for the pigeons serves as a hood over the door below. To the left, there are small fixed windows, while to the right, there is a small 12-pane Yorkshire sash window.
The flanking sections each have multiple low doors, with three on the left and two on the right. The roofs of the sections are hipped.
