Description
Rose Cottage is an estate cottage dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from dressed stone and features a tiled roof, designed in an L-plan. The building is one and a half storeys high and has three bays, showcasing a Tudor style.
On the ground floor, there are three-light mullioned windows with hoodmoulds in the outer bays, each light containing diamond-paned sash windows. A similar two-light window is located between the outer bays. Above, in the steeply-pitched gabled half-dormers, are two-light windows, also with diamond-paned sashes. The gables are adorned with kneelers and cross finials. The gabled roof features kneelers and ridged coping, and there are tall, corniced octagonal end stacks with two conjoined shafts. A half-glazed door is situated at the rear of the cottage.
