Description
This stable, located 5 metres east of Forge Cottage, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with roughly-shaped quoins and cut dressings. The front slope of the roof is covered with stone slates, while the sides are finished with Welsh slates. The stable is a single storey with one bay, featuring boarded doors set in an elliptical-headed arch, flanked by altered 12-pane sash windows within raised stone surrounds. The roof is hip-ended, and there is a banded ridge stack at the rear. On the left side, there is a 16-pane casement window in a raised stone surround, and the right side has two 16-pane sash windows, one of which is set in a surround made from re-used architectural fragments.
