Description

The Coates tomb, located 11 metres south-west of the Church of St. Mary, is a Grade II listed table tomb dating from 1763. It is made of sandstone and features a slab with a moulded edge. The inscription commemorates 'John Coates son of George Coates of Knaresbrough in the County of York'. The tomb is supported by six square moulded legs.
