Description
Early 19th-century farmbuildings and a dovecote are located attached to Durham Riding Farmhouse. The buildings are constructed of random rubble with ashlar dressings and have a Welsh slate roof. They form an L-shaped layout. A long range attached to the right of the farmhouse includes a 3-bay stable with a granary above. A plank door is set within a stop-chamfered surround on the right side, and the windows are shuttered with six panes above. Adjacent to the stable is a byre, featuring a plank door and an external stone stair leading to a first-floor granary. A blocked segmental arch is positioned to the right of the staircase. Ventilation slits are present on both floors. A projecting wing to the right features two similar bays, followed by a three-storey, one-bay dovecote tower. The dovecote tower has two heavily-moulded circular surrounds to wood dovecote screens on its top floor and a pyramidal roof. Other sections of the roof are gabled.
