Description
The Roddam Mausoleum, located approximately 30 yards east of the Church of St. Michael, was built in 1795 for Admiral Roddam. This family mausoleum is constructed of ashlar stone and features a stone slate roof. It has a moulded plinth and a Tudor-headed doorway set within a pedimented gable end. The structure is accented by broad angle pilaster strips and a finely moulded cornice. On the opposite gable, there is a shield displaying the Roddam coat of arms in the pediment, along with a marble tablet dedicated to Admiral Roddam positioned below it.
