Description

The bridge over the River Coquet, located in Acklington, was built around 1865. It is constructed from rock-faced stone with rock-faced-and-margined dressings, except for the tooled-and-margined internal faces of the parapet. The bridge features three segmental arches, keeled cutwaters with domed tops, an impost band, and a band below the flat-topped parapet. The parapet has chamfered coping with iron clamps between the blocks and includes end pilasters. There are 20th-century railings attached to the north-west side, which are not of interest.
