Description
North Shotton Farmhouse is a house from the late 18th century, featuring a porch added in the late 19th or early 20th century. The front is made of tooled stone, while the other walls are constructed from roughly-squared stone with cut dressings. The porch is made of tooled-and-margined ashlar and the roof is slate. The building has three storeys and three slightly irregular bays, with a plinth at the base.
The porch is located to the left of centre and includes a four-pane casement window and a boarded door on the right side, which encloses a renewed door with a three-pane overlight, all set within a stone surround. The ground and first floors have four-pane sash windows, while the second floor features six-pane sashes, all set in stone surrounds with slightly projecting sills. The gables are coped and have moulded kneelers, with stepped and corniced stacks at the ends. There is also a contemporary outshut at the rear.
