Description
The screen wall and gate piers at the west entrance to Shawdon Hall were likely built around 1858 by architect John Dobson. Constructed from ashlar, the structure features square piers that have a plinth and moulded capitals topped with ball finials. The low serpentine walls, which have pitched coping, connect to the end piers that are adorned with a stepped frieze and low pyramidal caps. This structure is included for its group value with West Lodge.
